The impact and difference of value engineering and value management on managers' behavior

Abstract

Value engineering was introduced during World War II and in the years after the war and is known as an important method in the field of engineering activities. At the same time, value analysis methods were considered in the United States as one of the tools of economic reconstruction. In the late 1970s, due to the application of value analysis, the profits from the development of petroleum activities in Canada increased. Value engineering and value analysis are used synonymously in most cases, while value engineering is usually applied to a new project or product that is being prepared and developed, and value analysis is done on existing projects and products. In this article, the same concept is assumed for value analysis and value engineering, thus both methods can be used to optimize management methods and, as a result, use human resources correctly and increase creativity and increase the efficiency of the organization. In this article, an attempt is made to summarize the process of value engineering, to introduce the process of value management, and to compare value engineering and value analysis with value management, and to express their effect on management practices.
