In the digital age, virtual businesses have emerged as one of the main pillars of the global economy, and the role of human resources in these businesses has undergone fundamental changes. With the emergence of new technologies, especially artificial intelligence, traditional methods of human resource development need to be reviewed and new models presented that can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of human resources in line with technological developments. Therefore, the present study aims to present a model of human resource development in virtual businesses with an emphasis on artificial intelligence. The research method is qualitative. The participants of the qualitative expert section were selected until theoretical saturation was reached, including human resource managers of virtual businesses and professors and experts with sufficient work experience in the field of human resource development. They were selected using a purposive non-probability sampling method. In order to identify the components of the model, a qualitative method and semi-structured interviews, content analysis, and MaxQda 2020 software were used. Finally, in order to fit the designed model in the qualitative part, a quantitative method with a structural equation modeling approach was used with PLS4 software. Finally, the findings of the qualitative part identified 10 organizing themes, technological factors, individual and motivational factors, organizational factors, external factors, legal factors, ethical factors, economic factors, cultural factors, process factors, and strategic factors. As a result, intelligent integration of advanced technologies with human considerations and organizational requirements is an essential condition for success in the digital age.
