This study aimed to validate a knowledge management policymaking model incorporating an artificial intelligence (AI) approach within the Police of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Adopting a quantitative-analytical methodology, the study utilized Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)—via SmartPLS software—to test the conceptual model and assess relationships between variables. In terms of purpose, this is an applied research study. By focusing on the challenges and requirements regarding knowledge management, organizational policymaking, and the utilization of modern AI technologies within the police force, the study developed and validated an indigenous model for knowledge management policymaking. Data were collected from experts, managers, and specialists using a structured questionnaire. Results from the measurement and structural models indicated that the identified components possess significant explanatory power regarding the construct of AI-driven knowledge management policymaking; notably, the policymaking and governance system demonstrated the highest explanatory power among the model's core variables. Furthermore, the findings revealed that implementing intelligent knowledge management policymaking within the police force is not limited merely to acquiring AI technologies and tools; rather, it necessitates data-driven governance, robust technical and security infrastructure, human resource empowerment, a knowledge-supportive organizational culture, and the design of intelligent knowledge management processes. Ultimately, the proposed model can serve as a scientific and practical framework for policymakers and managers within the Police of the Islamic Republic of Iran to develop smart knowledge management, enhance decision-making quality, effectively utilize organizational data and knowledge, and purposefully leverage artificial intelligence capabilities.
